Homemade Hummus
I love to entertain but hosting with a new baby makes things a bit more challenging. So I do what I can to make the process as easy as I can for myself while also making sure what I’m making is healthy and delicious – just like this hummus app.
Homemade hummus is always a crowd pleaser and it’s super easy to make. I then add a variety of veggies and some gluten-free crackers for crunch. Perfect summer appetizer without any guilt!
Ingredients:
- 1 can garbanzo beans
- 1/4 cup of lemon juice
- 1/4 cup of tahini
- 1 small glove of garlic
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- 2 tablespoons of water
- 1/2 teaspoon of cayenne (optional – I just like the kick!)
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- Dash of paprika
Add all items to food processor (except oil), Vitamix, Ninja (whatever you have!) and blend. I like the Ninja the best for hummus, since it breaks down the chickpeas without making it too smooth in texture. Slowly add in olive oil once mixed and blend again. Scoop into a dish, add a dash of paprika on top and sprinkle some pine nuts for texture.

I love this simple, yet versatile dish from Crate and Barrel for this hummus app, or any chip/dip appetizer. It’s practical, modern and best of all, so inexpensive! Bonus: it’s machine-washable!
