Baby Boy Randall’s Nursery
As I enter into the 3rd trimester, becoming a family of 4 is becoming very real and I couldn’t feel more excited, nervous, elated, anxious… I’m pretty much experiencing every emotion in the book!
We’ve started to plan for our boy’s early arrival, my bed rest in a few weeks (read here if you missed what’s been going on) and of course, making sure his room is ready to go!
Decorating a baby’s room – well, really any room – is one of my favorite things to do! It’s honestly helped me get through this crazy period of uncertainty while we’ve dealt with my pregnancy complications and allowed me to focus my attention on something FUN that’s in my can control. 😉
Vision for the Room
After creating a super girly nursery for Chloe, I knew I wanted our boy’s room to be more modern and to carry him through his toddler years and beyond. I also wanted it to be edgy, unique and not your typical “baby blue” nursery.
So, I based the room around the concept of a black wall and focused in on furniture and colors that would pop. The color palette I stuck with was black, white, natural wood, and brass with greenery accents. Adding plants (which are mostly fake for safety reasons!) adds some warmth, I think, to the room. I also always love a good theme so I weaved in dinosaurs throughout to make a bit more “kiddish”.
**All nursery items are listed at the end with links to where to find them online.**
Note: The crib is set up for a toddler instead of a baby crib since Chloe will have to sleep in this room temporarily while I am in hospital since we’ll have my MIL staying with us for a while.

Closet
In combination with the existing closet system we had in the old guest room, we spray painted an old dresser black and swapped the knobs, for an added modern storage space.
I also went to the “Dollar” section of our local Target and got lots of bins for organization and added my own labels. (Note: If you’re curious how I make my own labels, follow me on Instagram and check out my Story Highlight “Organization).

Huge thanks to Outline Interiors who worked with me on the project! As someone who loves to decorate myself, it was so helpful to work with a team who was willing to consult and provide their design expertise while I still allowing me the creative freedom to make this room into exactly what I envisioned. From helping with paint colors, to furniture coordination to art work placement, they were so knowledgeable and helpful. I highly recommend them if you need consulting or full-service design services.
Happy to introduce you to Laura if you need design help – just email me (angie@angieroserandall.com).
