You all know how much I love to decorate, so I couldn’t wait to make our home festive for the holiday season. With the Christmas tree, stockings, poinsettias and festive centerpieces, our home just feels so cozy, welcoming, and makes me so excited to celebrate Chloé’s first Christmas. I love the pops of red and gold and the smell of the fresh tree when I walk in the door.

When I decorate for the holidays, I typically stick to the formal living room since it’s a space we don’t use every day but is the first thing you see when you walk in our front door. I can also close the baby gate and Oscar and Chloé can’t get in there and tear the place apart!

Believe it or not, we’ve never had formal stockings until this year. I wanted to wait until we had our Chloé so we could get a complete set that we could have for years on end.Picking out stockings wasn’t easy.. I wanted stockings that were traditional yet also still reflective of my style which seems almost impossible. Plus, I also was looking for them to be personalized so we each could have our own for the years to come.

I found this set from Monacara Designs on Etsy and I couldn’t be happier with them. I love the mix of plaid and traditional Christmas colors, plus the luxe look of the faux fur for us girls. Each stocking is embroidered with gold thread and can be customized to each of your family members. Added bonus: you can also order them as a one-off later on if your family grows. Shipping was so fast and the seller couldn’t have been kinder or easier to work with.. if you are looking to update your collection, she’s offering readers 20% off with code FRIENDS20 for a limited-time.

One of my favorite holiday traditions is decorating the tree with Bill while enjoying a bottle of wine and some Christmas music. This low-key Saturday night always kicks off the season for us and gets me into the holiday spirit.

I love a fresh Christmas tree but as I mentioned, I hate the process of getting one. City Tree Delivery delivered one right to my door, set up the tree and cleaned up the mess. Totally hassle-free! I love this service so much, the Chicago Tribune featured a story on this since the idea of tree delivery is still pretty new to a lot of people. After doing It two years in a row now, I’m not looking back!

If you are still in need of a tree, you can get yours for $10 off with code WELLSTRONG10 when you check out here.

I also love to add a Christmas blanket to our couch, a festive pillow and other holiday touches around the home.

The holidays are such a special time especially with a little one now in the mix. I have always loved the Christmas season and now am excited to share it with Chloé and watch her experience the holidays for the first time. Every year, Bill and I take a photo in front of the same tree at 900 N Michigan Ave., and enjoy Christmas Eve at my aunts with my whole Italian side of the family and eat more meatballs and seafood salad than you could possibly imagine. I’m excited to introduce Chloé to Santa, watch her to try open her first gift, and see the lights at the Lincoln Park Zoo. What are some of your favorite activities for the season?
